Next Time You Want to Wear Mesh...

So many people in Second Life-- including my Sweetie-- can't see mesh. So no matter how gorgeous your mesh outfit is, think about 20% of the population seeing you like this!

And as for the land-- here's what Linden Realms looks like without the ability to see mesh.

Roughing it in the Wilderness

The wilderness is a set of six island sims provided by the Lindens for the exclusive use of paid Second Life residents: Gecko, Caiman, Piranha, Tapir, Capybara, and Leech.

The land is jungle with tall mountains...

...languorous rivers...

... and sandy beaches.

Vegetation is lush..

.. and there are all sorts of  Linden mole-made (meaning cartoonish) critters:

River stations are accessible via boat...

... and nearby paths...

... lead to ruins high in the mountains.

Six sims give plenty of space for exploration. Sweetie and I had a good time, and I will soon return for more.

Aho Museum

When Sweetie and I reached the ground we visited the Aho Museum & Ars Simulacra, which will soon go away-- in fact, I just checked, and it already has-- so no SLURL, sorry.

The museum features early Second Life builds of note. I know the work of some of the artists, but learned a lot by walking around and looking at the displays.

Photos below the fold.

Adventures with Chey and Sweetie: Le Cactus Jazz Club!

Since the D-Construction art installation was 3500 meters above the ground on the SBCC sim, we allowed ourselves to fall, stopping to investigate the various builds we passed on the way down.

First, we passed this structure:

It featured discontinuous steps with teleport doors from stairway to stairway-- and there were lots of red high heeled shoes

The next stop was a way cool jazz club-- Le Cactus.

It celebrated Josephine Baker and other singers from the early XXth Century.

We spent a good half hour taking photos of ourselves as we danced atop neon cacti.

I can't, of course, show you frontal photos of Sweetie, since that's prohibited by the Patriot Act, but of course, shy flower that I am,  I'm happy to show you innumerable photos of myself.

Sorry, this is the only image of Sweetie that got past the government censors:
